The département borders Catalonia to the south with Andorra, and the Midi-Pyrénées region to the west, in the department of Aude, to the north and east of the Mediterranean Sea.
The Pyrénées-Orientales is at the eastern end of the Pyrenees, on the northern slopes. These include the Carlit, Canigou and Albères massifs, the Capcir plateau and the Cerdagne valley on the French side. will be able to enjoy emblematic mountains such as Canigou (2784 m) or Carlit (2921 m), precious nature reserves, seaside resorts and spas, Vauban’s military fortifications and a rich cultural, historical and symbolic heritage.
